Lower Ball Joint

  Untitled Document

Basic Description

The ball joint is a ball and socket joint. The socket is lined with a nylon material. The lower ball joint connects the lower control arm to the steering knuckle -- the piece to which the wheels are connected.

Technical Description

The ball joint allows the wheel to be steered as well as allowing suspension movement when bumps are hit. Worn ball joints can cause clunking noises when bumps are hit, and affect alignment angles.
